Thai food is a fairly recent discovery of mine. It was last Thanksgiving I first tried it; I became an instant devotee. My favorite dish, like many other people’s, is Pad Thai, despite my distaste for peanut butter.

The local Thai restaurant, Golden Leaf, brings the Thailand culture to downtown Newberg. It is decorated in the Thailand way, soft colors and ornate statues. Golden Leaf is very clean. I felt that the music didn’t fit the mood, as it was a popular mix of radio station songs.

The service is superior. We were promptly seated with menus. They gave us time to decide after quickly taking our drink orders. After the food was ordered, it came after legitimate cooking time. The food was steaming hot, almost too hot. The Pad Thai that I ordered was delicious. Above all, the Thai Iced Tea was the best. It cost only $1.25 and tasted amazing.

If you haven’t tried Thai food yet, be sure to do so soon. You’re missing out. However, if you are a fan of Thai as I am, visit Golden Leaf and experience the quality, consistency, and great taste that they offer.

Golden Leaf Thai of Newberg makes the best pad thai I've ever had. I have tried many other place and still havent found anything that comes close to theirs. I havent tried much else on the menu but the atmosphere is nice and friendly.

How lucky are we to have such tasty Thai right here in Newberg? I would recommend the salad rolls with the best peanut sauce I've ever had (and I've had a lot), but then there might not be enough left for me. The pad thai is reliably good, not the best, but far from the worst. Order the curries medium spicy if you don't want your nose hair singed. The server- the same smiling face I've seen every time- is very friendly and seems to know just about everyone in the dining room at any given visit. Golden Leaf has a lot of regulars, which is always a good sign, and is often busy around lunchtime. Don't let that stop you... order a Thai iced tea, sit back and enjoy.

We have been eating consistantly at the Golden Leaf now for about 5 years. It is always great and we love the family who runs it. Food is consistant and tasty- and the service is always friendly. Thanks Golden Leaf!

Calm, quiet atmosphere, completely reasonable prices, and, of course... spectacular food!

I have been eating here for seven years. Not only has the food always been extremely delicious and such a variety of tastes, but I have never once seen anything remotely gross or unsanitary. I've never heard a single rumor and I grew up in this small town. My favorite dishes are the salad rolls, the beef salad, the red curry, yummy Tom Kah soup and their Pad Thai of course! There aren't many good restaurants in Newberg but this place and La Panaderia Gonzales are some of my two all-time restaurants of the Portland metropolitan area.

Golden leaf is a really delicious thai place. There are tons of rumors that it's gross and dirty, but its not at all. I love their red curry and the cute lady behind the counter is always sweet and remembers me. I recommend this place, its affordable and the portions are more than enough.

I drove in from Portland to visit my friend and asked her what was her favorite place in town, she said the Golden Leaf. So we went there for dinner and while I ordered the Pad Thai, she ordered the Tom Kha soup. The Pad Thai here is extraordinary! Probably better than most places I have experienced in the Portland-metro area. We had everything we needed and got water when we ran out, that is all the service I need. Every now and then I find myself more willing to drive out here just to want to try more things on their menu.

I have looked everywhere for the best curry. A perfect blend of sweet and salty. I like to be able to taste the coconut milk in it. It has a wonderful presentation as well. Very nice people.

Recommends: Gaeng Ga Ree with chicken

I have only ate here twice, once in the dining room and recently I got take out. The yellow curry is some of the best around and the employees are friendly and nice.
